Operational Intelligence
Forensic transparency for the UK’s leading remote garden design studio. Addressing the logistical and architectural queries of our nationwide partners.
Remote Precision
How can you design accurately in Birmingham or Bristol without visiting?
We do not rely on rough sketches. We build a forensic Digital Twin of your home using architectural data. Through our Creative Partnership Kit, you provide high-definition video walkthroughs and specific "Hard Constraint" measurements. We then use satellite data for sun mapping and our proprietary "Vertical Anchor" protocol to calibrate levels. This process allows us to "see" your garden more accurately than a designer standing in a field in Solihull with a clipboard.
Why do you ask for a 'Brick Count' instead of a tape measure survey?
Tape measures sag over distance. Gravity and angles introduce a margin of error (20–50mm) that ruins step designs (The "Step Surprise"). Your house is built to a standard: 1 UK Brick Course = 75mm. By counting the bricks from your patio to your Damp Proof Course (DPC), we establish a laser-accurate "Vertical Anchor." This allows us to calculate stair risers and drainage falls with 100% mathematical certainty, whether your project is in Cheshire or Edinburgh.
What if my house is rendered and I can't see the bricks?
In this case, we use the "Door Threshold" method. We ask you to measure the drop from your internal floor to the outside ground. We also cross-reference photos of neighbouring properties in your area—whether that's Brighton or Leeds—to verify local construction course heights.
Do I need to survey the whole garden?
No. We only require the "Hard Constraints": the house wall width, door positions, manhole covers, and existing trees. We do not need the exact position of every existing flower in your Bath garden, as we are likely redesigning those areas completely.

Construction & Build
Do you build the garden?
No. We are Digital Architects. We produce "The Contractor's Bible"—a set of technical documents that instructs your local builder in Sheffield or Oxford exactly how to build. This empowers you to take our plans to 3 different landscapers and get 3 quotes for the exact same work.
What is the "Structural Mandate"?
Included in our Complete Blueprint, this is a strict quality-control document for your builder. It explicitly prohibits "dot-and-dab" mortar methods and mandates a full mortar bed on a Type 1 MOT compacted sub-base. We specify these technical standards to protect your investment from the Yorkshire winters.
What is the "150mm Safety Lock"?
This is a non-negotiable design constraint. To comply with UK Building Regulations, your patio must sit 150mm (two brick courses) below your house's DPC to prevent rising damp. Our remote calibration process ensures this gap is designed into the plans for every home from Cardiff to Cambridge.
Why specify "Maintenance Envelopes" for furniture?
A common mistake is buying a 2m table for a 2m patio. In our 3D model, we apply the 600mm Chair-Pull-Back Rule. For hot tubs, we model a 500mm Service Zone around the motor to ensure engineers in Reading can access it without destroying your expensive decking.
Design & Atmosphere
What is the "Nocturnal Protocol"?
Most gardens disappear at night. We design for the "Second Shift," focused on the Architecture of Stillness.
We strictly specify 2700K Ultra-Warm White LEDs for a sanctuary glow. Cooler lights look clinical and disrupt UK biodiversity.
How do you check for privacy in the Digital Twin?
We use the "Sit Test." In the 3D model, we place the camera at eye level (1.2m) in your proposed lounge area and look 360 degrees. This allows us to spot neighbouring windows and block them with pleached trees virtually, ensuring privacy for our clients in high-density areas like Windsor or Brighton.
Pricing & Logistics
Can I upgrade from the 2D Layout to the 3D Blueprint later?
Yes. Our ecosystem is modular. You can start with The Signature Layout to get your builder started. If you later decide you need help with lighting visualisation, you can purchase a 3D Upgrade at any time. We archive project DNA for 12 months.
Do you specify plants for regional climates?
Absolutely. We use professional data to verify plant hardiness against your specific soil type and regional climate—whether that's the Highlands or the Sussex Coast. For Complete Blueprint clients, we provide the Regional Sourcing Dossier, vetting trade nurseries within 25 miles of your postcode.

Book Site CalibrationFAQ’s
-

1. Do you visit my garden in person?
No, we operate as a fully remote digital design studio. This allows us to serve clients across the entire UK without charging travel fees. We build a precise "Digital Twin" of your home and garden using the measurements, photos, and videos you provide in your "Data Dossier." For physical landscaping and construction within London and the M25, our sister company, Stuart Savage Landscaping, can be commissioned separately.
-

2. How accurate is a remote design?
Extremely accurate. We use professional architectural software to create scaled 2D plans and 3D models based on the dimensions you provide. We guide you through the process of measuring your space to ensure every wall, window, and boundary is mapped correctly. If you have a complex site (steep slopes, irregular shapes), we may recommend a professional land survey first.
-

3. What is a "Digital Twin"?
A Digital Twin is a virtual 3D replica of your home and garden. We model your exterior architecture, boundary walls, and existing features to test our designs. This allows you to see exactly how shadows fall at different times of day, how the view looks from your kitchen window, and how the new lighting scheme will transform the space at night—all before a single brick is laid.
-

4. Which package is right for me?
The Foundation Review (£250): Best if you are unsure where to start or want professional validation for your own ideas.
The Signature Layout (£750): Best if you need a clear, scaled plan to hand to a contractor for a quote.
The Complete Blueprint (£1,200): Best for those who want the whole immersive experience, including 3D cinematic walkthroughs, lighting plans, and detailed planting lists.
-

Can I buy the add-ons separately?
No. Our add-ons (Nocturnal Lighting Schematic, Local Sourcing List, Digital Twin Update) are technical supplements designed to work specifically with our core design packages. They cannot be purchased as standalone products.
-

6. What if I don't like the design?
Our process is collaborative. We start with a detailed questionnaire and analysis of your style preferences (your "Mood Board"). The Signature Layout and Complete Blueprint packages include one round of minor revisions to tweak the design. Significant changes or complete redesigns after the initial concept presentation may incur additional fees.
-

7. Will the plants actually survive in my garden?
Yes. We don't just pick plants that look good; we use horticultural data from Shoot Gardening to verify that every species is suited to your specific soil type (Clay, Chalk, Loam), aspect (North-facing, South-facing), and local climate.
-

8. Do you provide the plants?
As a design studio, we do not sell or deliver physical plants. However, our "Local Sourcing List" add-on (£150) provides you with a researched list of the best trade nurseries and suppliers in your specific county, often saving you money compared to garden centres.
-

9. Can I give these plans to my builder?
Absolutely. The Signature Layout and Complete Blueprint packages include scaled 2D plans with key dimensions, which are exactly what a landscape contractor needs to provide an accurate quote and build the garden.
-

10. What is your refund policy?
Due to the digital nature of our work, once the "Data Dossier" analysis has commenced or the initial consultation has been held, the service is deemed to have started and is non-refundable. Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions for details.
-

11. How do I pay?
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards via our secure online checkout (Stripe/Squarespace). Payment is required in full up front to secure your design slot.
